With a focus on essential reading and writing strategies, this low-stress program helps keep young minds sharp and confident heading into the next school year. Sunshine Smarties Bootcamp is more than just worksheets and busy work.
As a veteran teacher, I design hands-on, meaningful activities that support the way each child learns best. This fun, no-prep program helps your child stay on track with daily literacy activities, engaging read-alouds, and skill-building games that are delivered to your child daily! Just 15 minutes a day to keep skills sharp and confidence high! Perfect for students who have completed kindergarten and want to keep their skills sharp for first grade!
Interactive Learning
Lessons are delivered daily through a simple, interactive learning platform that makes it easy for children to engage in fun, meaningful practice. Each activity includes immediate feedback, allowing students to check their work and try again if needed. Their responses are automatically sent to me, so I can track progress and provide extra support on specific phonics skills when needed.
sOUND sORT
Sound sorts help children build phonemic awareness by grouping words based on beginning, middle, or ending sounds. This hands-on activity strengthens listening skills and helps kids recognize sound patterns essential for reading and spelling.
Making Words
Students will use this virtual letter tile board to manipulate letters and sounds, strengthening both decoding (reading) and encoding (spelling) skills. They'll listen to a prompt given by me, then build the word using this easy-to-use, no-prep tool—no extra materials needed! It's a fun and effective way to reinforce phonics skills right from home.
High-frequency Words
Children will practice familiar sight words and build new ones to discover common spelling patterns. Using word mapping, they’ll visualize each word’s structure—helping them read and understand text more quickly and with greater ease.
Easy Decodables
Every Sunshine Smartie gets access to fun, skill-based decodable stories that help build confidence in reading—one sound at a time!”
Writing Response
After listening to a story, your child will strengthen handwriting, spelling, and sentence formation through engaging, purposeful writing prompts. They’ll have the freedom to choose how they respond—whether it's drawing and writing on paper at home and uploading a photo with a voice recording to Seesaw, or creating their picture and sentence directly on the Seesaw platform.

Hey There, I’m Angela Williamson
As a veteran teacher with over 25 years of classroom experience and a Master’s degree in Instructional Design and Curriculum, I’m passionate about creating learning experiences that truly work for kids. I’m also LETRS-trained, which means I use research-backed strategies grounded in the Science of Reading to help young learners build strong literacy foundations.
I started Summer Smarties Bootcamp because I saw firsthand how much progress can slip away over the summer—and how powerful just a little daily practice can be. I wanted to create a no-prep, engaging program that supports families, boosts confidence, and keeps those hard-earned kindergarten skills sharp and strong for first grade. I’ve blended my expertise in technology, curriculum design, and early literacy to make this bootcamp both effective and fun!
